Heart & Mind is committed to provide professional psychological help and care to London's communities - at an affordable price. Our low-cost community counselling service is open to all, offering individuals a caring, confidential and safe environment to explore and address issues that negatively impact your quality of life.

Some of the issues we can provide help with: Anxiety, panic attacks, depression, relationship difficulties, addictive behaviour, bereavement, loss of confidence, personal development, anger management etc.   

PLEASE NOTE: Our low-cost counselling service is not suitable for those with:

• Formal diagnoses of psychosis such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder personality disorders

• Recent admissions to a psychiatric unit or

• Trainee therapists seeking personal therapy for professional training

Our low-cost counselling team is made up of therapists working towards their full professional qualification. Therapists work under regular clinical supervision and are members of professional bodies such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the Association of Christians in Counselling UK (ACC).

LOW-COST COUNSELLING FEES

To make professional help and support accessible to as many as possible, Heart & Mind considers your personal income when determining the fee for a consultation.

Heart & Mind low-cost counselling fees start from £20.00 per consultation, depending on:

• Your personal gross income per year

• Your weekly time slot chosen (e.g. less sought after daytime appointments tend to be cheaper than evening or weekend appointments)

• Your chosen venue (e.g. locations with more availability offer better value for money, online consultations may be cheaper than e.g. face to face appointments)

You will usually be offered up to 12 low-cost sessions.

HOW DO I PAY FOR CONSULTATIONS?

To pay for consultations at Heart & Mind, we will ask you to set up a Direct Debit mandate with Heart & Mind. Once set up, the consultation fee due will be debited from your account 5 to 6 working days after each appointment.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

If you need to cancel or change an appointment please give your counsellor as much notice as possible but at least 48 hours before your booked appointment. Any cancelled, missed or changed appointments with less than 48-hour notice are charged the usual session fee, irrespective of your reason for cancelling the appointment e.g. illness, accident, travel delays, strike etc.
