Anna was amazing. I am so grateful for her ability to give me bigger perspective on the issues I was facing. Her ability to affirm me at times and question me without judgment was comforting and challenging for me (all in a good way).

ANNA LLOYD
In-person consultations in London Bridge and Online

I am an experienced therapist having worked for many years with Heart and Mind and I also teach and tutor on their Certificate in Counselling course. Both in my experience and what current research confirms is that change can come from building an effective counselling relationship. This means that I aim to offer a space for you to experience empathy, non-judgment and genuineness where we can work collaboratively at the pace that you need and where you can feel listened to and heard. I aim to listen both to those things that are conscious and those things that may be more unconscious parts of you that may not have had a chance to be heard yet.

I believe that our past influences us and for many this can be helpful to be explored if you choose to do so.  I think that each person is unique and generally knows themselves and their route to wellbeing best and that my role as a counsellor is often to help you discover this rather than direct you. I have experience in working with attachment trauma and relationship difficulties, abuse, grief and loss, bereavement, eating disorders, trauma, identity issues, faith issues, anxiety and experience working with those with adhd.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor using different theories to underpin my work meaning I can tailor my work to each individual person.

Training and experience

I’m an accredited member of the BACP working within their ethical framework and a registered member of the ACC also. I have a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, regular professional supervision and am committed to continue to grow and to learn as a therapist by undertaking regular training. I also hold an Mphil in Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies and a BA (hons) in Theology.
